Donner Book Prize

 

The Donner Prize for best book on Canadian Public Policy is a new annual award seeking out and spotlighting authors who take an innovative approach to public policy. With this prize, the Donner Canadian Foundation hopes to stimulate the production and discussion of public policy in Canada.. 
  The first Donner Prize will be awarded in May, 1999. $25,000 will be awarded to the best book on Canadian Public Policy and two runners-up will receive $5,000 each. 
  The inaugural jury for the Donner Prize is made up of a distinguished group of academics and business people from across Canada. Chaired by Dr. Grant Reuber, Chairman of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation and former Provost and Chancellor of the University of Western Ontario. Members include Professor David Bercuson (Calgary), Professor Jennifer Smith (Halifax), Professor John G. Richards (Vancouver) and Pierre Lortie (Montreal).
